With record gas prices, Americans still determined to travel are looking for other ways to save.

1. Work with a travel advisor – From travel planning and reservation assistance, finding a place to park that RV, renting a car, or assisting with ticket and tour options, AAA Travel Advisors can help you map out every detail - and advocate on your behalf should your travels not go as planned.
2. Visit a trusted mechanic in advance – Before you get going, make sure your vehicle is ready to go. Visit a trusted mechanic for a bumper-to-bumper checkup, including tires. Make an appointment today at any AAA Approved Auto Repair shop or a AAA Car Care Center. 3. Map it out – With so many people hitting the roads, planning in advance will save you time and money. Visit a AAA Retail location or use AAA’s Digital Tourbooks® and our popular TripTik® Planner to map out your travels in advance - or to make a change of plans while en route.
4. Save on hotels, rental cars, and theme parks – AAA Members can take advantage of hundreds of travel-related discounts, including savings at AAA Preferred hotels, rental cars and theme park tickets.
5. Make it E-Z – Travelers can purchase E-ZPass transponders at most AAA Retail locations. Save money on gas by limiting stops and starts.
6. Save on gas – With gas prices as high as they have been in years, take advantage of opportunities to save. Travelers can use the AAA Fuel Finder or use the AAA mobile app to find the least expensive gas along any route. AAA Members can take advantage of the Shell Rewards discount partnership, a discount of 30 cents/gallon for first time users and then 5 cents/gallon discount at participating Shell stations.
