• June 12, 2024 - Today we`ll depart for Newark and arrival at the Dawes Arboretum, one of Ohio`s many hidden gems: a scenic paradise with a vast collection of forest and ornamental trees, plants, and shrubs from around the world. Founded in 1929 by Beman and Bertie Dawes, the Arboretum was inspired by the couple`s love of trees and nature, a love that`s carried on through the years.
• June 12, 2024 - here is always something in bloom at The Arboretum. Enjoy a 45-minute narrated tour via wagon and learn about the collection areas, from the Japanese Gardens where you can enjoy some meditation time and reflecting pool. Then, well head to Granville for an Included lunch at the Buxton Inn.
• June 12, 2024 - The Buxton Inn, recently reopend after a tragic fire in 2022. The historic Inn has been featured in "Haunted Rooms America" for it's haunted rooms 7 and 9. After lunch, there`s time to explore historic Granville, settled in 1805 by immigrants from Granville MA.
• June 12, 2024 - This afternoon will include a visit to the Avery-Downer House and Robbins-Hunter Museum, a historic house museum furnished with 18th and 19th century decorative arts acquired by the original owners, as well as collectors tied to the house over its long history. It was completed in 1842, with additions in 1875, 1930, and finally during Robbins Hunter`s occupancy from 1956 to 1979.
• June 12, 2024 - Followed by A visit to Ye Olde Mill, producer of Velvet Ice Cream. Ye Old Mill is a manufacturing plant for Velvet Ice Cream. Enjoy an included Ice Cream cone while you enjoy the Olde Mill complex which offers a restored grist mill that dates back to 1817, sits on 20 acres of beautiful countryside, and features a mill pond with ducks, an ice cream parlor, restaurant, gift shop and Ice Cream Museum.
